There has been a wave of resentment within the susegad Goankars over the last couple of months about the unabetted construction , hill cutting and destroying of our beautiful Goa.The issue of scarlet keeling , the debate on NDTV where in the media had a feast on the cost of the susegad goan and minted money to show us in bad light. Althought prominent citizens did tried to keep the balance on isssues like Goan , Non Goan and the anti Goan, it was sad the way Goans issues and identities were discussed in public and that to on a national media. I myself was born in the gulf where my father struggled to give us good and happy life, but he never kept us there to enjoy the slaveryand indiscrimination in a alien land but he brought us to Amchem Goam and gave us education and a Goan Life to the fullest. I do not regret that I dont have a permanat place to call my own as I am still living as a tenant in a land lords property but no regrets I have my idetity intact and will keep it that way And am not ashamed to be a Goan although a middle class . Just a few days back I read a reader speak(herald dated 21.04.08) where in a gentlemen who stays in Uk says he is half goan because his father married a english lady and He is ashamed to call himself even a half goan due to the bad develompments that has taking place in our beautiful Goa( more emphasising on the looting of aged UK holidaying couples by our youth) . The time has come that we view our identity in a broader format and expand our horizons where we as Goans cans be never ashamed of ourselfs and not let others take advantage of our susegadpon . Let every goan have a brighter view of the Goanidentity , lets wright our mind off and let others know what the real Goan is all about. This post is for Goans at large, He may be in any part of the world express your views here where I intend to bring together all those goans with different views but one identity Goancar.
